Friday 5th September 2008   It's official someone is stealing my year!  I have no idea where the time is going and I have officially missed the summer (I'm not the only one when it comes to the summer as in sunshine - can you believe this continued bad weather we are having?)   Much excitement in the G G Racing camp as we have found another nice race for Howdi - he has got into a big race at Haydock tomorrow afternoon and what happens but they forcast 50mm of rain today.  the course was raceable yesterday but who knows now.  there is a 7am inspection - not much use to those of us who have 4 hour plus journeys to make it to the races.   We have entered BERTIE SOUTHSTREET at Bath on monday and PRINCE OF MEDINA at Great leighs on thursday and on the same day HOWDIGO has an entry at sandown.  The only other entry is Howdi on the 23rd at Folkestone.  The excitement here - apart from the chance of actually going racing at some point - is that we are having a video commercial made - filming takes place next week and we hope to have a nice ad ready by the beginning of october.   I think that wraps it up for now. Wednesday 20th August  Hi Everyone,   Well what a disappointment.  Graham is sitting in York and syndicate members all over the country are trying to get organised when the news comes through that the meeting is abandonded.  It is such a disappointment as we had plans for HOWDIGO around this race.  So now we have BERTIE SOUTHSTREET and PRINCE OF MEDINA entered on Sunday at Yarmouth - Bertie will definately get in but we are not sure about Prince of  Medina.  SMOKIN JOE is entered at Kempton on Monday again the list of entries is 39 so we will have to wait and see what happens at the declarations stage.  So we have something to look forward to!  I am attending the Country Fayre on the 24th and 25th August at the Museum of Kent Life just outside Maidstone.  If you are in the area please drop by to say hello, pick up some information on the horses and ask any questions you may have 0h and check out the horsey mousemats, keyrings, pictures and our great horsey lucky dip.   It will be a great event with lots going on.  that's all for now. Regards. Deana Godmon

Wednesday August 5th   HI,  just wanted to share with you an email I received today which I think sums up what G G Racing is all about.  This is just one of many that we received following Howdi's success last week. Hi Deana,   Can we go on the list for tomorrow please?   Hard to believe it was a week ago we were at Goodwood.  Rates as one of the best yet - serious contender to the treble day with Willie at Lingfield.  Lovely weather, superb scenery, racing rather than corporate people, good company with the GG gang and of course, the star - Howdi.  Thanks to you for sorting it out and to John for picking the "right" race.   Hope to see you tomorrow.  Finally I am still seeking MOHAMMED  of MANCHESTER (see posting on the 4th for details).  If you are out there please give me a call.  thanks     bye for now, deana

Tuesday August 4th - where is this year going?  We have had a very busy time both within the racing world and outside.  HOWDIGO did us all proud at Glorious Goodwood, finishing third in a though handicap race - and for the might have beens out there if he had had a clearer run he might have been nearer!  Bertie also ran at Goodwood and although he finished 9th he too ran a really good race.  He was only 3 furlongs behind the winner and had a bad draw so again we are left with a case of the might have beens.  HOWDI now heads to York and the Ebor meeting.  SOX (PRINCE OF MEDINA) runs on thursday at folkestone and SMOKIN JOE runs at lingfield on saturday.   I had a good evening at Lingfield last saturday at the syndicate night - and then listening to platinum abba.  John Best paraded a yearling that is going to be within the Hucking Horses III partnership and we met a few people wishing to be part of racing through the yard in one way or another.   Finally - CALLING MOHAMMED -  I had a call from a gentlemen from Manchester and a long conversation on sunday about purchasing a share in SONNY.   He subsequently called back to say he had ordered a share and looked forward to our cofirmation.  The thing is neither myself or graham got his number and the order/payment has not come through.  So MOHAMMED from MANCHESTER if you are out there wondering why you haven't heard please get in touch.  We have had no details through the internet and are not sure if you have changed your mind or if your order has gone astray.    That's it for now - until next time.  Deana G G Racing

Monday 23rd June 2008   What a lot has happened since my last posting!  For G G Racing we have had returns to the track for WOODY and HOWDI .  WOODY did well following his year off - he was very headstrong at the start of the race but did not give up at the close despite not particularly liking the ground and possibly finding the trip a bit far.  All in all we were pleased with this return effort and look forward to his next run.  The jockey reported that he would probably need a couple more runs to help him settle and then we should see the best of him.  HOWDI continued to impress - we expect him to need further but after such a long lay off the mile seemed more appropriate.  He goes over the same distance tonight at Windsor and we hope for more promise ready for a step up in trip.  SMOKIN JOE is entered at Kempton over a mile on wednesday night.  The old stager might need a couple more runs to find his way but he is looking good at home.  The hope to find him a turf triumph has proved just that a hope but we still do not rule it out.  The only problem being there was only one race available for about two months so we are back on the all-weather.  We will have a few runs and then put him away for a break.  BERTIE SOUTHSTREET goes back over 5 furlongs tomorrow night at Newbury - we hope he will show us a bit of style and that he will not disappoint his 'proxy' owners who are accompaning him tomorrow.  KALLISTA'S PRIDE and KALLY are now home and settled in well.  The syndicate for KALLY is now available - email us for full details or check out her page when it finally goes live in the next few days.BROUGHTON ZEST and HUNNY are doing well and we are looking forward to welcoming them home soon.  It has been an amazing week at Ascot for the team at the yard with winners at the beginning and end - one 100/1 and the other 33/1.  Everyone at G G Racing was most excited even though they weren't our horses but few of us backed them! I think that wraps it up for now.   Bye for Now   Deana   G G Racing

Friday 6th June 2008   Firstly Folkestone and Bertie Southstreet - some good some bad.  Fast away but the undulations got him and he seemed to stumble a little but he picked himself up and kept on which boads well for the future.  We were very pleased with his attitude and decided to drop him back to 5 furlongs so we did not declare him for goodwood today.    We are looking for a race for JOE who is ready to go again.  WOODY is also ready and we are looking for something for him.  We have found a race on Friday for HOWDI at Sandown.  it is a 1mile race but further details unknown until publication on monday - and we can see who our opposition will be too!  SOX is a few weeks off running.  WILLIE remains on the resting list.SONNY and JOY are both well.  KALLISTA'S PRIDE is confirmed in foal to BYRON  and her foal KALLY is doing well, both are expected back at the yard soon.  We are awaiting news of BROUGHTON ZEST's pregnancy and also a name for her foal - her owners are choosing this weekend. We will launch the new foal syndicates next week so keep an eye on the website.  We have posted some new pics on the site from our visit yesterday. More later.  Deana G G Racing

Monday 2nd June 2008.   Here I sit enjoying a grey wet day - again.  It is hard to believe that summer is upon us.  The turf season is now under way and we are getting excited about our summer prospects.  SMOKIN JOE has been trying his feet on the turf - finding a race is a nightmare at this time of year with a rating such as his - but we are still not sure if he likes it or not.  We will continue in our quest to find the course for him, meanwhile he may have the odd outing on the all-weather.  We will also programme in a summer break for him.  PRINCE OF MEDINA is training on well and is expected to run before too long. WOODYGO and his brother HOWDIGO has wintered well and are both almost ready for their first runs of 2008.  BERTIE SOUTHSTREET has joined the gang and has had one run so far and is due out tomorrow at Folkestone - only expected to be a short stay horse we are not syndicating him at the moment, and yes he is for sale if you want to buy him, we only wanted to have a little fun whilst waiting for all our other horses to be ready to run.  WILLHEGO is now enjoying some R&R in the field and we are considering when to return him to training - fingers crossed it will be soon.   KALLISTA'S PRIDE  gave birth to a filly - a little small but said to be very well.  The filly has been named KALLY by her owners and we are expecting mother and baby to return to the yard shortly.  PRIDE is going to BYRON this year.  BROUGHTON ZEST also had a filly.  This one is very pretty - I have seen her in the flesh unlike Kally - and I hope will grow up to be a winner like her mum and dad.  ZEST is visiting PROCLAMATION this year.  We are awaiting the result of the naming of ZESTs filly who is currently known as BZ.  We have launched syndicates in both foals for current members and the public launch will take place later this month - keep an eye on the website, or log your interest now by emailing me on ggracing2004@aol.com and I will send you an information sheet when it is available.   SONNY and JOY are both growing well and are happily munching their way through very large fields of grass in the company of a group of same sex friends.  It is interesting that the fillies are very shy - they run away when we visit and so all photos are currently very long distance ones (I'm told they are more friendly at feeding time). The colts however are a different breed, as soon as they see you approaching they come over to the fence and are happy to stand for photos and lots of fuss.  SONNY no longer looks gangly or big and seems to be maturing into a fine specimen - he likes to lead the group and keep them in order which to my simple mind looks like a good thing!  We are off to Folkestone tomorrow night to see Bertie run - first time in blinkers so it is going to be interesting if nothing else.  More Soon   regards Deana G G Racing
